The intent of this anthology is to raise the consciousness of race relations and to get people engaged in an honest discussion about the topic. It is not a forum to spew hate nor is it a love festival. It is our hope to have submissions that are reflective of the wide range of feelings/emotions that exist in your home, street (block), community, city (village), state/providence, country, and/or continent. You may teach the reader something about you or simply entertain the reader with your notions about the idea [directly or indirectly] of race. The election of Barack Obama uncovered some issues that I thought were rare. I was not foolish enough to think that general racism, bigotry, prejudice, mistrust, or fear from any segment of the population was nonexistent. But, I am disheartened that we are so politically correct that we refuse or cannot have a honest discussion with each other. So, let us explore race through the genre of poetry. We are looking forward to reading your poetry submissions.
With all that in mind, the Submission Guidelines are simple. It should be noted that special consideration would be given to the poems (poetry submissions) that fall within the following guidelines:
- Adheres to the theme of the Anthology
- Entertains and/or teaches
- No more than 40 lines
Things that might disqualify your submission for consideration (This is at the discretion of the publisher) are:
- Profanity for the sake of profanity
- Hate for the sake of hate
- Depictions of bestiality
- Depictions or descriptions of incest
- Depictions or descriptions of child molestation
